One of the best things about frozen coloring pages is that they are so inexpensive to buy. I remember being at a friend's house and seeing him open up one of them for his child. He was absolutely delighted and asked me what he could do with it. I told him that he could color whatever he wanted on the coloring sheet – including special animals, letters, and words. That kind of set a hook in my head!
As soon as that thought entered my mind, I set out to see if I could find some free coloring pages online. I quickly discovered that was not going to be possible. The Internet is mostly catered towards adults, and most children's websites are geared towards pre-schoolers. What I found were tons of websites with free coloring sheets. There are some very cute ones, but there are also some very difficult ones, too. It was a little bit of a bummer because all the free stuff on the Internet is not very appealing!
Then I remembered that some parents like to send their children to a website called Scrapbook heaven. I browsed through their selection of frozen coloring pages and found one in particular that was in every way perfect for my family. My daughter absolutely adored it! It featured characters from My Little Pony, including my favorite character, Twilight Sparkle. It had a lot of the same elements as other Scrapbook sites, but it was very Disney-perfect for our family.
I decided to let my daughter use her free time to do her own artistic creations instead of coloring the page. She was thrilled, and even more excited when I told her that she got to use some of her favorite Disney art, too! That allowed her to really explore and develop some of her own skills while enjoying the cartoon show she had become so attached to. After she was done with her first free frozen coloring pages, she was hooked!
It was only once that she realized how much money having these free Disney clipart coloring pages could be. There were so many pictures to choose from, and each one was in its own unique format. She literally had thousands of free pictures to use in her next creations. In fact, there were even times that I would ask her if she wanted to make a certain character into one of her Disney art. Needless to say, she was thrilled! Each time she finished one of her creations, she would email me pictures of what she had done, and by the time she was done with her second sheet, she was asking for my permission to make a few more.
The next time we went out, she asked me for some help. Since she was fairly new to the whole Internet thing, I thought it might be a good idea to teach her to make her own account on one of the major websites. We downloaded a couple of free photo coloring sheets, and she went crazy making them. By the end of the day, she had dozens of free picture colors, and she was looking forward to her next project. That's the beauty of using the Internet as a creative outlet; you can bring something wonderful to life!
